Cool thought for a blog feature...

I think it would be cool if I could edit new blog posts on the same page as my blog... As in, you click an add button, a new box opens up, I type my text, hit the publish button, and the page gets magically updated and refreshed. Probably if I cared to figure it all out, I could probably make it happen... We'll see...

Back to the Treadmill!!

I have once again started another trek to lose weight. This time it's going to be at the gym at Vonage. We shall see what comes of it.

This time, I have decided I will work out in the morning, which I have never done before. So far so good. (It's been 2 days...)

I'm just tired of being lazy.

Gmail on my Blackberry!

I am in heaven! Gmail has an application that works great on my Blackberry!

Success!

Sale at Best Buy... I bought a 1GB USB flash drive for $20. On the second attempt, I got Puppy onto it and viola! I booted puppy from a flash drive!! BUT, I had no access to my ntfs formatted hard drive. No problem - I just had to put a file called pup001 onto the root of my C drive. So, looks like I am now able to play with Linux whenever I want, access my files without having to do anything to screw up my Windows installation. Life is looking good. :-)

Settling in

I really feel like I'm starting to understand a lot more things and am becoming less of a burden to my team. After my fleeting experience with a start up company, I am really glad to see that I am lovable and capable.

Except that I never got Puppy to work on my jump drive.. I think it's because it's a USB HDD as opposed to a USB Flash. Oh, well... It's still cool running from CD.

Oh, and my bowling team is tied for 5th place!

Feeling geeky!

Just loaded Puppy Linux onto a CD-ROM and started it on my PC. Next I'm going to put it on a pen drive. This is really cool stuff!

Personal Complaint Center

My dad's observation is that most folks use blogs as a place where they can complain about stuff and hope that other people agree with it... I guess that's true sometimes... I'm hoping not to do that too much here...

Played in the Brooklyn United stage show last night - it was a lot of fun. I hope that they make it an annual event. Even if our bus almost didn't go to the after party.. But if I told that story, it might sound like a complaint! ;-)

Happy Friday!

I will have to work late tonight, but at least I'll be able to do it from home... I think one of the most refreshing things about this place is that when people work crazy hours (which is a requirement of any IT shop) they are actually appreciated and rewarded for it... A certain other company I worked for that never stopped working for you just expected that you would do it out of appreciation for all the free stuff that you could have gotten anyway by doing your 9 to 5 and getting the hell out.

Not much going on - mostly just trying to get financially re-organized and getting used to my new job. I am doing a lot of documentation, which is really cool because it helps me learn what it is I'm supposed to be doing by letting others know what they're supposed to be doing. I'm also giving some presentations, which is pretty fun. It may just be time for me to try to work on a Linux system at home again so that I can learn things I wouldn't have access to touch at work...

My work comes in spurts, which gives me some time to keep up with things I wouldn't normally like Slashdot and update my blog. Neat-o.
